Look, I won't lie - it started in a garage. Just me, a couple beat-up barbells, and this crazy idea that Vancouver needed something different. Something raw. I'd been coaching at bigger gyms for years, watching people get lost in the shuffle, and I knew there had to be a better way.
We moved into our first actual facility on Pacific Boulevard. 3,500 square feet that smelled like old rubber and determination. Had about 40 members who believed in what we were building. Those folks are still with us today - they're family now.
Our athletes started crushing it at regional competitions. Not gonna brag, but we sent three members to the CrossFit Games qualifiers that year. That's when I realized we'd built something special - a place where everyday people could train like athletes.
Doubled our space to 7,000 square feet. Added a dedicated Olympic lifting platform area and recovery zone. Brought on three more coaches who actually get what we're about - not just certifications, but real passion for helping people unlock their potential.
We're now 200+ members strong, but it still feels like that garage gym in all the right ways. Everyone knows your name. Your coach remembers your goals. We've got people from 16 to 65, office workers to pro athletes, all pushing each other to be better. That's the culture we've forged here.
Yeah, we do CrossFit and Olympic lifting. But that's just the how. The why? That's about building confidence, crushing limits you thought were permanent, and finding your people.
